Ranting Painting

This is the Piece that I got into the New York International show. There were three hundred entries and only 80 were chosen. I also won one of the five awards given which was honorable mention. It was funny being there also because I was the youngest artists there at 23 years of age. It felt strange being in New York but I had fun.

New York was Great!

I had a lot of fun going to New York with my friends. The only complaint I really had was how dirty it was really. I rode the subway a lot and the stairs going down to the subway was always covered in sludge. I got over that though. I got to meet the guy that does the make up for Project Runway. He was really nice and a lot of fun to talk to. The opening for the gallery I went to was a lot of fun too! I was so surprised because they were giving out awards also and I got an honorable mention. There were only five prizes given out to the eighty pieces in the show. I was the youngest artist there too. -^^- i was so embarrassed when I talked to the curator of the show and she founds out who I was. She was so surprised when I told her that I was 23 and told me that I had really stronge work. I was so nervous. Especially when they pulled me up in front of everyone and told them that I received an award. I didn't know what to do or say or if I should say anything. It was a lot of fun running around New York. Going to See the met and Moma museums was so amazing. Looking at the old masters paintings was so inspiring! I can't wait to start working on new work. ^_^
